Is anyone else having trouble with this site? Lee, I just tried it and it's OK but do want to mention that in many cases when a new site comes up, especially one like this which has a potential for a very high audience, the server(s) just can't handle the workload. That 'might' be the problem you had. Sincerely, Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: "L. S. Wow ! Thanks so much for all the response I received. Now me thinks that Krasna is the name of the community before somehow or other it became Grassna. Present maps and GNIS have Grassna and most people are telling me Krasna is located about where Grassna is now. Nobody seems to have a history of it all. I did find that the church was at one time the Holy Trinity Catholic Church but has been relocated to somewhere and the present church is Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and that primarily the people who settled there were German-Russians from Bessarabian area. Some seem to remember that all it had was a church and cemetery but some of the college history seems to indicate people lived there or perhaps they said lived there but meant near there on a farm or something. Very interesting. Would like to learn more of the history but seems internet is limited on the subject. Some of these indicate it may be near Strasburg, North Dakota and others in Sioux County. GNIS doesn't have it. Current maps don't have it. Does anyone have any knowledge of it or perhaps have some history of it? > Sincerely, > Mike Peterson > NDGenWeb Emmons County Coordinator >

Hey all! It never rains but it pours -- Pat took Richland, Don added Grand Forks, Linda came aboard with Sioux then added Billings, and now we have a new CC for Steele! Her name is Kathleen Castillo and she will be introducing herself when she's ready. :-) I hope this 'storm' of adoptions continues!!! Only fourteen to go! ;-) ~Lee

Way to go Don ! Point of interest for you. There was a lot of activity on southern Grand Forks county and northern Traill County which I have (actually it also involves Steele County); in fact, there is one city, Reynolds, which is partly in GF and partly in Traill. A lot of people moved back and forth, some lived in one and buried in the other, etc. At one time heavy concentration of people in the tri county area. So, anything I can do to help, please let me know. Sincerely, Mike Emmons Traill ----- Original Message ----- From: "L. S. Bob, I did reply -- to you privately not on this list -- and told you to have the person interested contact me so we could get the ball rolling. I never heard from that person. :-( I should have bugged you to bug that person to contact me but with all the 'busyness' of real life, I dropped the ball. Still doing Burke and Divide Counties. I would like to give Divide County to someone else and concentrate on Burke County. Keeping updated on one county is enough frustration. Last year I had an offer from a local Divide County person to take over Divide County. I wrote an email to NDGENWEB but never got a reply. I was having big problems changing my web page and uploading the information. I finally found a web editor called NVU which works very well. It should be called "Web Edit for Dummies." I still can't get the colors right, but will work on it. I also download a search engine called "Freefind" but can't get it to work, guess that's why it is free.
