I announced previously that I am a candidate for the USGenWeb Representative At Large office. I believe strongly in a leadership supporting the local coordinator and that I can make a positive and forward-thinking contribution to the USGenWeb membership. I will be traveling from the 28th until the 9th of July so will be missing some of the discussion on the boards regarding candidates but if you will be voting early in the voting period, I would appreciate your support and your vote. My candidate statement is located at http://www.mpeterson.us/5/usgw.html . Whether you want to support me or not, I urge you to at least vote sometime during the month of July. Sincerely, Mike Peterson Emmons Co Traill Co Mike Peterson USGenWeb RAL Candidate http://www.mpeterson.us/5/usgw.html
Hi Mike It looks fine. Good work for you and Patrice. When I get around to it, I'm going to post the link on my Eddy, Foster, Kidder, Stutsman, and Wells county pages. The clerk of court/ Register, Patty Hilbert, is one of our James River Genealogy Club members. She was working on an index to the pre 1925 marriages. The last time I asked, she wasn't finished. I suggested that if she got them finished, we could publish them--maybe on the internet. She seems to be covered up in work, so I expect that she has not finished the project yet. Next time I see her I'll ask. This would be a good place to post them , or they could be posted on the Eddy page and a link to your table. Hi all... Happy Spring! In the vein of spring cleaning, I am doing a 'roll call' of sorts. Please respond to ME, not the list, as I don't want to overwhelm those who prefer a small amount of email. Please respond to the following questions regarding your participation as a CC for the NDGenWeb. 1. Would you like more, less, or about the same amount of interaction between CCs via this mailing list? 2. What kinds of things would you like discussed on this list? 3. Would you like to have a monthly sharing of accomplishments, website updates, funny stories, etc via this mailing list? 4. Would you like to have periodic feedback from the SC or ASC regarding your website? (if yes, please specify-every month, quarterly, every six months, once a year) 5. Do you like the idea of spotlighting or voting for a County Website of the Quarter? (any ideas on how this might work are welcome) 6. Do you have suggestions for things you would like to see on the State Website? 7. What is your latest addition to your website(s) that you are excited about or proud of? 8. If you have a question or are "stuck" with a website problem, who do you ask? 9. What is your "next step" in your website-do you have one? Please include your counties with your signature. If you are "babysitting" a county and wish to have it adopted when a new CC is available, please indicate that. Also, you may not be aware of this, but both your new State Coordinator and Assistant State Coordinator are teachers (lucky you!). So, your homework for the month is to double check those links!!! Test your query system and make sure it works!! Thanks so much for your time, for all you do for NDGenWeb and it's researchers and Happy Spring!! Michelle

Hello all!!! Please see the email below from Linda, our National Coordinator. Many of you already have notes that mention how to add more lookups (email you), but you might want to mention to contact you in the event of a bounced email. It's not a bad idea to contact your lookups periodically to check and see how they are doing and thank them for volunteering. Sometimes it really pays off when they volunteer another item or information. Thanks! Hello all- I recently received an email from the election committee. There is now a system for registering and updating information online for voting in the USGenWeb elections. Although I provide the committee with a list, this is a good idea in case of changes, etc. More information and the online registration form can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwelections/register.html Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope all is going well in your counties! Michelle
