An index, Most Cemeteries of Morton County, is now online and linked to the Morton County TOC page. This is another submission by George Barron and continues his prolific contribution to the NDGenWeb Archives. Thanks, George, another plus for reseachers. Remember, the importance of the Archives is permanency and seachability. The Archives can be searched nationwide and once a document is found your site is found because I have a link back to every site. Another plus for you is that any type of interface desired can be constructed to call up linked files. This puts data on your site without much effort on your part but makes your site look mighty good to reseachers. But if you do nothing but link to your respective Archive TOC page you will always present the most current information to researchers. BTW, the 1910 Census images are complete and online. The 1920 Census is being scanned with Adams, Barnes, Benson, Billings and Bowman completed and uploaded but not yet all linked. That should be done this weekend. I ran across this - that may be helpful for your sites: North Dakota population figures 1900 - 1990 by county: http://www.census.gov/population/cencounts/nd190090.txt Tim
Greetings all! I thought I'd give a 'heads-up' on a few links. The North Dakota Vital Records changed their URL some time in the recent past. This is the current one: http://www.health.state.nd.us/ndhd/admin/vital/ Also for those who might have the Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society on their sites (it is for Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Renville, & Ward Counties), they have moved from geocities to their own domain: http://www.mrlgs-nd.org/ HTH, ~Lee NDGenWeb Project CC
If you get an email from '"Microsoft Corporation Security Center"' - with an attachment, delete it - for it contains a very bad virus. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.gibe@mm.html Microsoft updates always pester you while you're trying to browse the Internet... they never come via email. Passed along by a friend of mine: 8:02 pm on February 20, 2002 will be an historic moment in time. It will not be marked by the chiming of any clocks or the ringing of bells, but at that precise time, on that specific date, something will happen which has not occurred for 1,001 years and will never happen again. As the clock ticks over from 8:01 pm on Wednesday, February 20, time will, for sixty seconds only, read in perfect symmetry 2002, 2002, 2002, or to be more precise - 20:02, 20/02, 2002. The 1910 Census images for Bowman, Richland, Bottineau, Burke, Burleigh, Divide, Dunn, and Cass are now online. Some of the film was disappointing in quality leading to scans that are disappointing also. The 1910 film. in general, does not scan on my equipment as well as the 1900 Census film because the overall size is smaller for the former. I'll get Traill linked this weekend. For those of you who haven't looked in a while you might go take a look at the various items Joe has been adding for the counties over the past few years. You might even be surprised at what you find there - that you can link to for additional county resources. Please visit them at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nd/ndfiles.htm Tim
