    2. Mike Peterson
    3. We've added several pages to our web site in June. Several projects have been in the mix such as town histories, adding obituaries, converting the 1916 History/Atlas, cemetery inventory and others. Our accomplishments could not happen without the contributions of others. Their time and their contributions are greatly appreciated. Our recent volunteers and contributors were Maria Barnhardt, Michele Keller, Lee King, Heather Landmesser, Frank Lawler, Cynthia Maier, and John Sahli. We thank all of them for their generous and tremendous support. Visit our "What's New" Page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ndemmons/whatsnewindex.htm to see what we've been doing lately. We invite those of you who have genealogy documents, photos, records, maps, obituaries, biographies, and so on which pertain to Emmons County to please contribute them to our site so that your data may be shared with others. Sincerely, Mike Peterson NDGenWeb Emmons County Coordinator geanie@cox.net http://www.rootsweb.com/~ndemmons/

    1. Extending Nomination Period
    2. bluebear
    3. Hello North Dakota, I must apologize to you first. I made a mistake in addressing my first messages to you, but when they bounced, I resent them with the correct address (I thought). Apparently some or all of you did not receive them, however. I'm truly sorry for any confusion or inconvenience that has caused you. Let's start over. :) The nomination period for you was supposed to end tonight, June 30 at 9 pm CDT. I'm going to extend it until 9 pm CDT on Wednesday, July 7th. You may nominate yourself or anyone on the ND mailing list (see below) by emailing Bev Hopkins (bbeegle@huntel.net) or me (bluebear@new.rr.com). The names of nominators will remain confidential. Only a few members of the Election Committee will ever know who nominated whom. I will post the names of nominees as soon as they have accepted (or declined) the nomination. Currently we have received one nominee Lee King, who accepted the nomination. From July 8-14 the nominees will have time to post information about themselves and their plans for North Dakota if they are elected. Other members of the list will have an opportunity to ask the nominees questions, either privately or on the list. You'll be able to vote from 9 AM CDT on Thursday, July 15 through 9 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 28. In addition to voting for SC, you will also be asked to vote yes or no to the question: Are you in favor of holding an election every two years for state coordinator?" The new SC will take office immediately after the election results are confirmed and will continue through January 2006 if the voters approve a two year term for the SC. Please feel free to email Bev or me with any questions you have. I'm sure that Joe Zsedeny will also be glad to answer your questions. 2. Garnett J.(Joe) Zsedeny
    3. The Board has directed the EC to conduct the election of a new SC immediately. I have been notified by the EC of a proposed schedule for the election to which I agreed and it is as follows: June 24 - 30, nominations July 1 - July 7, campaigning July 8 - 22, voting Don't get excited about the campaign part as I would not expect anything more than a candidate answering whatever questions are posed. I have subbed two EC members to this list, Greta Thompson and Bev Hopkins for the duration of the election to answer any technical questions that you may have. I have asked the EC to pose this question to you: "Are you in favor of holding an election every two years for state coordinator?". If the majority votes yes the EC will put it on their schedule. I will immediately turn the SC position over to the new SC upon final certification of the winner by the EC. This is our chance to have a new revitalized NDGenWeb responsive to both you as CCs and to researchers. I urge everyone to participate. Joe
