    1. Cemetery Records
    2. There is a web site that has some listings for cemeteries in Ward County. They give the Fiche # for the listing @ FHC. I have a few questions about what's proper on my part. 1. Just copy the data 2. Copy the data and include a reference to the site where I got it 3. Only include a link to the site. 4. Get the Reel from FHC and make another copy so it will go into the USGW Archive. Don Gardner

Our accomplishments cannot happen nor can we grow without the contributions of others. 1. Cemeteries again
    2. I copied the list of Ward County Cemeteries included in the "Find a Grave" program. Should I link the Cemetery names I have in Ward County Roots to this site? I know some believe this is not a permanent record and should not be used. Would it be possible to cut a deal with the folks running Find A Grave to copy them into the GenWeb Archives? I just looked up the cemeteries listed @ USGS for Ward County and got the township from XY. Now each cemetery appears in the correct township. I have also recieved some from helpers which are also included. The list from "Find a Grave" has some listed that I don't have as yet. I guess the question is, How do we take advantage of all the recources available in order to provide as much accurate information as possible. Don Gardner

    3. Hi Don ! After reviewing the web site - http://www.findagrave.com/ - it would seem to me that based on their 'accuracy and copyright' statement which I've quoted below, there is no problem placing their data onto your website. People who are submitting data to them should have an understanding that their data is not copyrighted and that Findagrave will not copyright it once it reaches them. In my case, I'm going to think about what to do about the tombstone transcriptions they have for my county cemeteries which I don't have. Don't know about that yet. Their obituaries are a little bit different. Some of them are actual links to other sites which in those cases individually each one would have to be researched for copyright. Then there are others which appear to be submitted w transcriptions - http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsp=46595310&GRid=8172344&pt=Zerelda%20Janice%20Skoglund%20Seyler& - I'm not sure what I would do about those yet - case by case for me - but I believe these people should be of the understanding that on the findagrave site they appear to be making their info public. In the case of 'pacifica' for the above submission I could see nothing which prevents that obituary from being copied by anyone. This is an interesting site - once I saw it I remembered being there but this is the first time I've spent any time studying it. So far for my counties, I see nothing new or more accurate than what I get from USGS and Montana but then I need to detail that out more and I just put it on my list of things to do. Take care and thanks for the lead, Mike ------------------- Find A Grave, Inc. attempts to provide accurate information to the public.
