Mrs. Gregory was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Wilkes County to the late Alfonsa and Flossie Combs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vander William Gregory; and brothers Guy Combs, Wayne Combs and General Clay Combs. Surviving are her children, Billy Ray (Ruth) Gregory, Bobby Dean (Caroleen) Gregory, Tony Lee (Shelby) Gregory, Carol Gregory Stokes, Linda Gregory Everidge, Danny Lynn (Lynn) Gregory and Kay Gregory Swaim; sisters Reola Cheek, Lois Gray, Sina Fulp and Arygle Brown; brothers Gray Combs and Bud Combs; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Dennyville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Lefler and the Rev. Dwayne Byrd officiating. She will be in the chur! ch 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 3, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Dennyville Baptist Church, 2713 Old Highway 60, Ronda, NC 28670. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Gregory family.
