James D. Reinhardt Sr. of Cana went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Elkin Health Care Center in Elkin, N.C. He was born Dec. 26, 1926, to the late Jacob Rush Reinhardt and Hattie Baber Reinhardt. He graduated from Reynolds High School and attended Guilford College. Jimmy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served three years in the Army Reserves. He served as a Friends minister from July 1955 until his retirement in 1999. The Rev. Reinhardt was a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. He was preceded in death by sons James Daniel Reinhardt Jr. and John Michael Reinhardt; and grandson Justin Dane Reinhardt; and sisters Betty Lou R. Andrews, Kathryn R. Bunn and Fay R. Drage. The Rev. Reinhardt is survived by his wife, Dora M. Reinhardt; a son, Jeffrey Van Reinhardt; three grandsons, Jamie, Jason and Jordan Reinhardt; four great-granddaughters, Shelby, Shaelin, Sawyer and Hannah Reinhardt; a brother Eddie (Pat); and a daughter-in-law, Jane! t B. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Pilot View Friends Meeting, with the Revs. Leslie Winslow and Nelson Puffenbarger officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pilot View Friends Meeting, c/o Judy Phillips, 3905 Old 421 Highway East, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
