She was born April 21, 1932, in Yadkin County to the late Bennett and Rhoda Shore Cranfill. Mrs. Redding was retired from Josten' s Printing and was a member of Center United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Redding; a son, Lynn Redding; an infant daughter; and three brothers, Burley Cranfill, James Cranfill and Luther Cranfill. Surviving are her son, Gary Redding of Yadkinville; her grandchildren, Nick Redding of Boonville; Melanie (Michael) Shore of Yadkinville; Jon Redding of Yadkinville; Brandie Patterson of Boonville; and Jennifer Redding of Yadkinville; seven great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Becky Redding and Veronica R. Bennett, both of Yadkinv! ille; two sisters, Mary Lee Smith of Elkin and Mattie (Rodney) Simpson of King; and a brother, Hubert (Estelle) Cranfill of Mocksville. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Gentry Family Chapel, with the Rev. Lenuel Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Center Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, Oct. 16, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church, 1349 Center Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their gratitude to the special caregivers, Mollie, Louise, Sabrina, Becky and Donna, for all the loving and devoted care given to Mrs. Redding.
