Mrs. York was born Aug. 20, 1919, to the late Robert and Jeanette "Nettie" Brewer Harmon. She was a homemaker and a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. York was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Jesse York. Surviving are her children, Kenneth (Peggy) York and Arthur (Peggy) York, both of Yadkinville, and Karen Levens of Lewisville; grandchildren Yvonda (Mickey) Brown, Brian (Tracy) York, Deborah (Don) Adams, Anita York, Shannon (Emily) York, Tracy Horne, Angie (Richard) Garner, Shane Horne and Trudy (Brandon) Hutchens; great-grandchildren Brandi York, Natalie York, Emily Adams, Derrick Adams, Casey Horne, Kayla Horne, Josh Horne, Bralee Horne, Wyatt Horne, Kaitlin Hutchens and Carly Hutchens; a great-great-grandchild, Mckinley Cheyann Horne; and nephew Ed Harmon. Her funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Turners Creek Baptist Chur! ch, with the Rev. Bobby Russell and the Rev. Allen Barker officiating. She will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 12, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Published in the Winston-Salem Journal on 10/12/2007.
