Shore, 92, of Three Oaks Road, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Elkin Healthcare Center. He was born June 22, 1915, in Yadkin County to the late Lytle and Fannie Bates Shore. Mr. Shore was a retired farmer and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha M. Shore; a son, Donald Shore; and by nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are his daughters, Vonda (Phillip) Willard of Yadkinville, Pattie (Willie) Cockerham of East Bend, Mary (Danny) Pardue of Hamptonville; two sons, Gray Shore, Gerald (Alice) Shore, all of Hamptonville; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mina Byrd of Jacksonville, Fla. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., today, Oct. 29, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A graveside service will be conducted following visitation at 12:30 p.m. today, Oct. 29, in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, ! with the Rev. Tim Tucker officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, 1232 Mountain View Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020 or to Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church, 1522 Austin Traphill Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
