He was born May 14, 1949, in Yadkin County to the late Fletcher Ellis and Mary Nell McBride Keaton. Mr. Keaton was retired with disability from Ingersoll-Rand of Mocksville, was a member of Yadkinville Volunteer Fire Department and a charter member of Yadkin County Rescue Squad. He was a member of Amazing Grace Tabernacle and enjoyed attending auction sales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Billy Frank Keaton and Donald Wayne Keaton. Surviving are his beloved wife of 38 years, Patsy Sheek Keaton of the home; a daughter, Penny (Shane) Gillenwater of Yadkinville; a son, Ronald Gene (Jenny) Keaton Jr. of East Bend; four granddaughters, Paige and Faith Keaton and Megan and Anna Gillenwater; and a sister-in-law, Linda Cleary. His funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Gentry Fami! ly Chapel, with Preacher Donald Luffman and the Rev. Bruce Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 13, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to express their gratitude to Betty Salmons, Angie Flynn and the Derrick L. David Regional Cancer Center for all the loving care given to Mr. Keaton. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Derrick L. Davis Regional Cancer Center, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
