"Jim" Transou, 91, of Greensboro went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007. Jim was born May 5, 1916, in Boonville, the son of Clarence R. and Mollie A. Garwood Transou. He was a graduate of Boonville High School and Draughon Business College. He was retired from Western Electric. Jim was a member of Westover Church where he served as an elder and a deacon and was very active in Search Ministries. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Rhodes Transou; two sisters; and five brothers. Surviving is his wife, Katherine M. Transou. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 17, at Westover Church with Pastor Don Miller and Pastor Bob Voorhees officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Street Chapel.
