She was born August 21, 1907, in Yadkin County to William and Laura Williams Dobbins. She married Cecil H. Frye on December 22, 1928, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Wesley Sams and five brothers and two sisters, Ella Dobbins Sutphin, Martha Dobbins Maynard, Luther, John Frank, Grady, Walter, and Austin Dobbins. She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Ruth Durham of Rural Hall, Greta (Jack) Hall of Pinnacle, Frances Farmer of Pinnacle, and Joann (Loyd) Sams of Pinnacle. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Jimmy Durham (Debbie), Cecil Anthony Durham, Rev. Mark Hall (Karen), Julie (Tim) Howard, Jack (Sonny) Farmer, Stephanie (Maury) Tepper, and Abigail (Matt) Linville; and by twelve great-grandchildren; Cassie and Clayton Durham, LaShay Hunt, Angel and Anthony Durham, Alex and Aaron H! all, Nathan and Kendra Howard, Nicholas, William, and Lily Katherine Tepper; and by three great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Annie Mae Dobbins Byerly of Winston-Salem, and Jane D. Shore of Yadkinville as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Brim' s Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gerald Jones and Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Brim' s Grove Baptist Church, Mary Frye Mission Fund, PO Box 1770 Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain is assisting the Frye family.
