She was born Oct. 4, 1916, in Yadkin County to the late U. Chester and Myrtle Royal Cook. Mrs. Money was a retired farmer and along with farming had worked with Wilkes Hosiery, Monleigh Garments and Cone Mills of Greensboro for several years. She was also a member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Money Jr.; by a sister, Cleo Cook Shore; and by four brothers, Radford Cook, Harding Cook, Phillip Cook and Bruce Cook. Surviving are her beloved children, Sue M. (Charles) King of Charlotte; Johnny (Edna) Money of Mocksville; and Nancy (George) Turnage of Hamptonville; grandchildren Larry Noble of Yadkinville; Lee Noble of Hamptonville; Marty Anderson of Hamptonville; Victoria Money of Raleigh; Julie (Mark) Niswonger, Cornelius; and Jon Robinson of New Orleans, La.;! two stepgrandchildren, Melissa King of Charlotte and Julie (Tom) Santuccio of Indian Trail; two great-grandchildren, Justin Anderson of Boonville and Laila Niswonger of Cornelius; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Zachary King of Charlotte and Maya Santuccio and Evan Santuccio, both of Indian Trail; and a sister, Oza Mae Cook of Hamptonville. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, in Gentry Family Chapel, with the Rev. Patty Choplin officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 22, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Asbury Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. Published in the Winston-Salem Journal on 12/22/2007.
