Norman Jr. passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at his residence. He was the son of the late Henry Clay Sr. and Clearsie Lawrence Norman. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Wood Norman; a son, Wayne Allen Norman; brother Edison and wife Lucille Norman; and a brother-in-law, Lewis Wilson. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Wilkes County but attended Mountain View Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean; son Benny Carter; daughter-in-law Lynda Carter; sister Wanda Wilson; grandchildren Molly and Blake Carter and Jamie, Jason and Jeremy Norman; and three great-grandchildren. "Special Pals" were Tyler Wood, Kinston Crater, Hannah and Brayden Oliver; and all the other children in the community. H.C. served the public as owner and operator of Norman' s Grocery and Hardware for 57 years. Thank you, customers. A special thank you to family, extended family, friends and ! Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Lynn, Margie, Kathy and Tracy. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Gentry Family Chapel of Yadkinville, with the Rev. Tim Tucker and the Rev. Charles Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, before the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O.
