She was born on June 13, 1927, to the late James Ernest Smith and Coetta Smith Norman in Yadkin County. Mrs. Linville lived all of her life in Forsyth County. She retired from Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and was a member of Beck' s Baptist Church. Mrs. Linville was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Donald Saunders Linville on Sept. 1, 2007 after 60 years of marriage, and a sister, Gladys Hauser. She is survived by two sons, David Smith Linville and his wife, Vickie, of Winston-Salem, and Mark Steven Linville and his wife, Susan, of Walnut Cove; three granddaughters, Laura Clark and her husband, Daniel, Jennifer Linville, and Julie Linville; two brothers, Jim Smith and Don Smith. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Crestview Memorial Park by Dr. Karl Minor and Dr. Ray Hamilton. The family will receive friends this evening, December 7, from 6 to 8 p! .m. at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel. Memorials may be made to Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center, 231 Melrose Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Published in the Winston-Salem Journal on 12/7/2007.
