She was born Aug. 15, 1936, in Yadkin County to Howard and Pearl Miller Pettit. Mrs. Clarkson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker for her family. She was a graduate of Courtney High School and a faithful member of Courtney Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father; a granddaughter, Emmily Clarkson; and an infant sister, Patricia Pettit. Surviving are her beloved husband of 48 years, William Clarkson of the home; three sons, Timothy (Crystal) Clarkson of Yadkinville; Mark (Lorie) Clarkson of Mocksville; and Stacy (Sharon) Clarkson of Yadkinville; grandchildren Seth Clarkson, Joshua Clarkson, Adam Clarkson, Tyler Clarkson, Travis Disher, Josh Disher and Jonathan Loflin; her mother, Pearl M. Pettit of Yadkinville; two sisters, Gaynelle (Jim) Brawley and Linda (Jimmy) Tucker, all of Yadkinville; a brother, Dennis (Diane) Petti! t of Yadkinville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Courtney Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ricky Atkins and the Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. She will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, P.O.
