He was born May 4, 1951, to Roy Junior and Eva Mae Wood Crews. Mr. Crews was employed by Turbo Care. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Wood Crews. Surviving are his father, Roy Junior Crews of Hamptonville; four sisters, Janice Schuyler of Winston-Salem; Judy Davis of Hamptonville; Susan Macemore of Winston-Salem; and Missy (Chris) Flanagan of Hamptonville; two brothers, Larry (Darlene) Crews of Boonville and Jeffrey (Ann) Crews of Union Grove; three nieces, Chandra Macemore, Laura Davis and Bethany Crews; and four nephews, Erik Crews, Bryan Crews, Chris Davis and Ethan Crews. His funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Gentry Family Chapel, with the Rev. Milton Jordan and the Rev. Don Tickle officiating. Burial will follow at Hunting Creek Friends Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p! .m. today, Nov. 9, at the funeral home in Yadkinville. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the family, friends, Mountain Valley Hospice and the Palliative Care Unit at Hoots Memorial Hospital for all their loving care giving to Steve during his illness.
