She was born April 29, 1926, in Surry County to the late William and Lucy Brown Logan. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer James Poindexter; daughter, Elaine Hicks; two sisters; two brothers. Surviving are her children, Janice (Herman) Breedlove, Mike (Lavonne) Poindexter, Jerry (Lynn) Poindexter; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2008, at Gentry Family Chapel, in Yadkinville, with the Rev. Barlow Stanley and the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is servi! ng the Poindexter family.
