Mr. Oliver was born May 26, 1935, in Yadkin County to William Benjamin and Audrey Money Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter Nikki Oliver. Mr. Oliver retired from International Paper Co. in Statesville. He loved sports, but most of all God, his family and his church, Mountain View Baptist Church, which he joined in 1947. He served as Sunday school teacher, Sunday school recording secretary, trustee and deacon. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Shelby Milholand Oliver of the home; a son, William Ricky (Monta) Oliver of Yadkinville; a daughter, Deborah (Jerry) Haga of East Bend; a grandson, Joseph (Tiffney) Gibson of Clemmons; a sister, Lutrelle Oliver Teague of Coral Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Mountain View Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Tucker and the Rev. Paul Stew! art officiating. He will be in the church from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 26, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church Building Fund, 1232 Mountain View Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. The Oliver family extends a special thanks to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Oliver family.
