She was born on October 27, 1920 to the late A.J. and Maude Spillman Hicks. Mrs. Fletcher was a lifelong member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Thomas Clyde Fletcher; a sister, Lucille Brown; and brothers, Delbert Ray Hicks and Kenneth Forest Hicks. Surviving are a son, John A. (Frankie) Fletcher of East Bend; a sister, Pauline Hobson of East Bend; two grandchildren, Donald Wayne (Linda) Fletcher of East Bend and Allen (Susan) Fletcher of Yadkinville; two great grandchildren, Wes Fletcher and Lucas Fletcher. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 at Mount Bethel Baptist Church in East Bend with the Rev. Bobby Watts and the Rev. Ottis Hurst officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. to lie instate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will re! ceive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. The family would like to give special thanks to Judy and Ashlee Griffin, caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 208 North Jackson Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
