Mr. Davis was born May 10, 1923, in Yadkin County to the late Dallas and Jessie McKnight Davis. He attended Yadkinville High School, served in the Navy and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. in Winston-Salem. While at Reynolds, he received awards for his outstanding ability to be a productive employee. He was a devoted member of Shacktown Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and especially his church friends. He spent much time in prayer, reading his Bible and helping others as he devoted himself to God' s will. He married Margaret Pardue, who passed away Aug. 30, 2002. In addition to his parents; and wife; he was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Joyner and Mozelle West; brother Paul Davis; and two brothers-in-law, Gib Pardue, Jr. and Bernard Pardue. Surviving Mr. Davis are a sister, Ruth (Roy) Greene of Clemmons; a brother, Ma! x (Edith) Davis of Yadkinville; and brother-in-law Thomas (Ailene) Pardue of Boonville. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Celeste (Sam) Garvis, Lisa (Ken) Reed, Jackie Boggs, Randy Davis, Michael (Susan) Greene, Nancy (Fred) Staley, Bart Davis, Jill (Mark) Matthews, David (Donna) Pardue and Ronnie (Kathy) Pardue. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, January 19, at Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Steve Johnson, Brother Joe McCollum, and Brother Lawrence Warden. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. before the service today, Jan. 19, at the funeral home in Yadkinville. Memorials may be made to the Shacktown Church of Christ, 2605 Shacktown Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055, or a charity of the donor' s choice. Special thanks are extended to all his wonderful caretakers.
