She was born Sept. 18, 1929, to John Lee and Sally Jane Royal Ashley. Mrs. Shaffner was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Edward Shaffner Sr.; a sister, Geneva Wiles; and two brothers, Gurney Ashley and George Ashley. Surviving are her children, Peggy Robinson of Jonesville; Mary Ann Robinson of Whitsett; Carolyn Carter of Jonesville; Paul "Sunny" Shaffner Jr. of Jonesville; and Kathy Carter of Jonesville; grandchildren Teresa (Kenneth) Sorell, Phil (Stacy) Robinson Jr., Tamara (Robert) Belton, Brad (Michelle) Robinson and Ann (Phillip) Etchison; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jessie Gardner; and two brothers, Johnny Ashley and Kenneth Ashley. Her funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Fall Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Hudson and the Rev. Jimmy Pardue officiating. She ! will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 30, at Gentry family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Shaffner family.
