Robert was born April 4, 1930, in Davie County to Tom and Mae Huffman Jones who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Spillman. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved farming, especially raising tobacco, and working on tractors. He ran the movie projector at the East Bend Drive-In Theater for many years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eva Reece Jones of the home; two loving children, Mark Jones and Debbie Hennings of East Bend; a very special granddaughter, Amanda Hennings of East Bend; and a son-in-law, Andy Hennings of East Bend. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Huff Funeral Home Chapel in East Bend, with Pastor Bobby Choplin officiating. Burial will follow in East Bend Friends Cemetery. There will be no graveside service. Visitation will be one hour before the f! uneral service Thursday, Jan. 24, at Huff Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends after the service at the East Bend Friends Fellowship Hall. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Yuson and the wonderful nurses and staff of Hoots Palliative Care for the excellent loving care Robert received during his last days. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Yadkin Nursing for the wonderful care Robert received from September 2005 until his most recent stroke on Jan. 10.
