He was born Aug. 5, 1955, to the late Harry Lee and Betty Hudson Pendergrass Sr. Mr. Pendergrass worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darren Pendergrass. Surviving are his children, Kristi Pendergrass and Trey Pendergrass, both of Charlotte; a fiancee, Ann Willis of Clemmons; three sisters, Libby Pendergrass and Betsi Pendergrass, both of Yadkinville, and Bertha Sanchez of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Dennis (Tina) Pendergrass and David Pendergrass, both of Yadkinville; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Gentry Family Chapel, with the Rev Robin Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. after the funeral service at the funeral home in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Harmony Grove F! riends Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 208 N. Jackson St., Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to give a special thanks to Charlene Allred from Hospice of Davie County for the loving care given to Mr. Pendergrass and family during his illness.
