See 1870 Census, Yadkin County, where they are living in the household of their father, Hugh Bryant. Nancy Jane is 14 and Mary is 12. Nancy Jane Bryant married 1st Columbus Casstevens. He died in 1907. She married 2nd M. L. Sain (not Swain or Swaim). She died Feb. 16, 1917, and was buried at Mitchell's Chapel. There may not be a tombstone for her. She adopted a boy, Scott Wood. N. P. Bryant was appointed his guardian in 1918. In her will Nancy left a house in Davie County to her husband, M. L. Sain. She also left a lot in the town of Yadkibville to the adopted son, Scott ood "Casstevens."
