He was born April 24, 1929, in Yadkin County to the late Ralph Monroe and Alma Long Shore. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Haynes Shore; children Carole Shore Vestal and Dawn Shore (Mickey) Childress; grandchildren Randy (Missy) Vestal, Elliott Childress, Cory Childress, Lynne Stamper and Michael (Valerie) Vestal; great-grandchildren Cody Vestal, Brysen Vestal, Ryan Stamper and Kelsey Stamper; sister Margaret Shore Sheek; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville, with the Rev. Heather Kilbourne officiating. Burial will follow in Longtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service Tuesday, June 17, at the funeral home in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the staff on the eighth floor at Forsyth Medical Center, Hoots Memorial Hospital! and Dr. Susan Hines for all the love and care shown to Carl during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Longtown United Methodist Church, 1416 Longtown Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Shore family.
