Mrs. Spann was born March 6, 1923, in Yadkin County to the late Rachel Barber. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two half sisters. Surviving are her husband, Frank Quentin Spann; children Frank (Naomi) Spann Jr., Donald James (Angie) Spann, Larry Wayne Spann and Lou Eva Johnson; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; half brother J.F. Brooks; and niece Geneva Sebastian. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville, with the Rev. Spencer King and the Rev. John Byerly officiating. Burial will follow in Fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, Feb. 27, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Spann family.
