She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Davie County to the late Henry and Betty Bell Reavis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Stewart Connell; sisters Eva Hoots, Martha Wiles and Nellie Reynolds; brother Earnest Reavis; and great-grandson Jesse Wayne "Bubba" McEwen. Surviving are her children, Junior (Donna) Wishon, Robert Wishon and Marie Wishon; sisters Mary Wiles and Ruby Whitaker; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Solid Rock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Jarvis and the Rev. David Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service Friday, Feb. 22.
