He was born Aug. 27, 1969, in Yadkin County to John Allen Vestal and Irma Gail Ashley Vestal. Jason faithfully attended Carver Road Christian Church where he sang in the choir. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, father and friend. Mr. Vestal graduated from Parkland High School in 1987 and coached the Walkertown Wolfpack Cheerleaders. He worked at Papa John' s on Hawthorne Road and loyally supported the North Carolina Tarheels and the Pittsburgh Steelers. His life touched too many to list, and his love will forever be with us. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Ruth Ashley and Bessie and Lonnie Stallings of Yadkinville. Surviving are his wife, Tameka Michelle Vestal; his daughter, Alessaundra Jashaun Vestal; parents Irma Gail Ashley Vestal and John Allen Vestal; a sister, Shanti Vestal; a brother, Johnny Vestal; a niece, Mae ! Vestal; and mother, father and brother-in-law Teresa, Don and Maurice Hill; cousins Carolyn Pearson (the Rev. David) and Tina Arbagast. Jason is also survived by his dear friends, Kenny Poplin of Florida and Brent Moser, Tosha Gullett and Victor and Cossandra Owens (daughter Victori); and a host of other family and friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Carver Road Christian Church, with Pastor Clyde L. Lindsay officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Feb. 5, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jason' s family.
