Mr. Davis was born Nov. 7, 1954, in Surry County to the late William and Ella Roberts Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Brittany Poindexter. Surviving are his wife, Ivey Renegar Davis; stepson Gary (Darlene) Myers; stepgrandchildren Cary Myers, Tash Myers and Megan Myers; sisters JoAnn (Jack) Wagoner, Pat (Kelly) Poindexter and Lisa Adams; brothers Kenneth Roberts, Frank Davis and Robert Davis; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville, with the Rev. Roy Nixon and the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Gospel Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Feb. 6, at the funeral home in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the Council on Aging, Linda Hutchens, Carol Thompson and Brandy for all the love and ! care shown to Wade.
