She was born March 17, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Asa Roosevelt and Lora Jane Finney Holleman. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Mrs. Allen loved her family with all her heart. They were the mainstay of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Hubert Allen in February of 1998 and a grandson, Bradley Joe Allen. Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Reid) Canupp of Salisbury and Joyce (Les) Steele of Cooleemee; eight sons, Norman (Nancy) Allen, Garland Nelson Allen, Roger (Martha) Allen, Gerald (Vickie) Allen, Dale Allen, Randy (Rebecca) Allen, Darrell (Paula) Allen and Tim (Donna) Allen all of Mocksville; twenty five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters; five brothers and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 2! , at 2 p.m. at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Hill officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, December 2, at the funeral home.
