He was born September 24, 1934 in Surry County to the late Leo Hunt, Sr. and Eula Whitlock Vestal. Mr. Vestal was a graduate of Yadkinville High School, retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 34 years of service, and was a member of Grace Bible Church. Surviving are his 3 daughters, Mona Vestal (Monty Harris), Yadkinville, Deborah Bolin, Yadkinville; Betty Carter, Clemmons, NC; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his devoted ex-spouse, Alma Vestal. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 P.M. Friday November 28, 2008 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the Gentry Family Chapel. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Friends Church Cemetery.
