She was born April 13, 1942 to the late Clarence Henry & Lillie Loue Lyon Smith. She was retired from Chatham Manufacturing, and was a member of Charity United Methodist Church in Elkin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd Charles Collins. Surviving are her children William Ray (Barbara) Speer, Elkin; Lester Lee Speer, Lisa Faye Speer, both of the home; one granddaughter Kimberly Ann Speer; two brothers Willie James Smith, Harmony; J.W. (Gail) Smith, Thurman; a aunt Bonnie Estelle Lyons, Elkin. Her funeral will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday December 17, 2008 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by Rev. Jerry Wilmoth, and Rev. Rex Cranfill. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday December 17, 2008 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
