Darrell Johnson, 76, of East Bend, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Hoots Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wilkes County on December 17, 1931 to George Washington and Pearl Henderson Johnson. He was a member of the Evangelist Church of God. Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Army and was a retired Auto Salesman. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lucy Combs and Margaret Zani; and brothers, George and Don Johnson. Surviving are daughter, Teresa (Roy) Jennings of Winston-Salem; sons, Tim (Keela) Johnson of Clemmons and Tony (Susan) Johnson of Winston-Salem; sisters, Alma Moody, Mildred Reich, and Ruth Bryan; grandchildren, Kelley (Clayton) Carnall, Dustin Jennings, Miles (Carrie) Jennings, Brooke and Tanner Johnson, and Grant and Alexandra Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Levi Jennings; and special friend and caregiver, Wanda Bare. Graveside Service will be conducted on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Bapt! ist Church in Wilkes County with Millitary Honors presented by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice. Huff Funeral Home is serving the family.
