He was born on January 28, 1936 in Yadkin County, a son of the late Dallas and Sadie Holcomb. He was a member of Wallburg Baptist Church and the Frank Barnes Sunday School for more than 30 years. He also served as a past Deacon and current Church Greeter. Charles was a veteran of United States Air Force and was a retiree from Parkway Ford of Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Holcomb; and a sister Carol Hyatt. He is survived by his wife, Emily Shell Holcomb; son, Kenneth Charles Holcomb and wife, Cathy Holcomb of Winston-Salem, NC; three step-children, Kathy Bullis and spouse, Claude Bullis of Winston-Salem, David Huffman and spouse, Kaylene Huffman of Spring Creek, NV, and Laura Huffman of Eugene, OR; three grandchildren, Crystal Gifford and spouse, Sgt. Christopher Todd Gifford of Savannah, GA, Brittany Holcomb and Aaron Holcomb of Win! ston-Salem; nine step-grandchildren, Carin Ioannou, Ryan Bullis, Coby Brodigan, Melissa Wright, Jamie Huffman, Debbie Huffman, Kory Huffman, Shawn Huffman, and David Huffman, Jr.;three great-grandchildren, Michael Lee Griffith, Todd Kenneth Gifford, and Dustin William Gifford; and cousin, Libby Cook of Jonesville, NC. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at Wallburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Cantrell, the Rev. Dr. Brooks Hunt, and the Rev. Max Evington officiating, with burial in the Church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, Highway 109 in Winston-Salem from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2008. Memorials may be directed to Wallburg Baptist Church, P.O.
