She was born October 28, 1919 to the late Luther & Nancy Myers Gough. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was a preceded in death by her parents, two sister, and two brothers. Surviving are her husband of 68 years John Ray Hoots of the home, two daughters Anna (Charles) Holden, Yadkinville; Joan (Mark) Wooten, Salisbury; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister Anna Lee Wiles, two brothers Hubert Gough, Luther (Melva) Gough, Jr. Her funeral will be conducted 3:00 PM Friday December 26, 2008 at Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Faircloth, and Rev. Ron Davis. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
