She was born September 28, 1919 to the late Wade & Minnie Bell Ladd Parks. She was a wonderful Housewife and was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, a brother Clyde Parks, a grandson Bradley Gregory. Surviving is her husband of 72 years Carlis Gregory of the home; five children J.W. Gregory, Jerry (Nancy) Gregory, Jackie (Mattie) Gregory, Rex (Marquita) Gregory, all of Hamptonville; Deloris (Don) Anderson, Jonesville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters Thelma Mitchell, Jonesville; Kathleen Sommers, Hamptonville; Era Gregory, Wilkesboro; Vera Swaim, Elkin; sister-in-law Flora Parks, Hamptonville, Lillian Marion, Harmony; Ester Childress, Jonesville; Mary Jane Mullis, Vesta Gregory, both of union Grove; Carrie Dean Gregory, Viola Gregory, both of Winston-Salem. Her funeral will be conducted at 11:00 A.M.! , Friday August 22, 2008, at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Pardue, Rev. Steve Mahaffey, and Rev. J.B. Parker officiating. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Union Baptist Church. The family would like to give a very special Thanks to the staff of Iredell County Hospice and also Texie Blackburn, and Donna Baggerly for all the loving care given to Mrs. Gregory. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Iredell County Hospice 2347 Simonton Rd. Statesville, NC 28625. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Gregory family.
