She was born Dec. 9, 1938, to the late Gaither Clarence and Florence Hanes Shaffner. She worked at Chatham Manufacturing and was a nursing assistant at Guardian Care. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rufus Shaffner, Vernon Shaffner and David Wayne Shaffner; and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include former husband Harvey D. Wagoner; a daughter, Debbie Collins of Elkin; two sons, Bobby Lee Wagoner of Hamptonville and Donnie Keith Wagoner of Jonesville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Magdalene Reeves of Jonesville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Swaims Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Byrd and the Rev. Barry Shaffner officiating. She will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.! today, Aug. 14, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
