Tucker, 68, of A&J Drive, East Bend, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, at her home. She was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Stokes County to the late John Leak Brown Sr., and Mary Mozelle Shelton Brown. Mrs. Tucker was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted homemaker for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Grey Tucker; and three sons, Ronald Grey Tucker, Lonnie Ray Tucker and Terry Tucker. Surviving are her beloved children, John R. Tucker and Jerry Tucker, both of East Bend, and JoAnn Lunsford of Yadkinville; four sisters, Joyce Collins of North Wilkesboro; Carolyn (Randy) Turner of King; Vickie (Jerry) Carter; and Mary Stanley; two brothers, John L. Brown Jr. and Richard D. (Lisa) Brown, all of East Bend; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 16, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A private ! service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 101 Technology Blvd., Suite 201, Mount Airy, NC 28676. The family would like to express their gratitude to Cindy Bullins and Lynn Apline of Mountain Valley Hospice for all the loving care and support given during Mrs. Tucker' s sickness.
