He was born in Yadkin County on Aug. 29, 1966, to Walter E. and Rita Redding Phillips. He was a member of Agape Faith Church. Mr. Phillips was a dedicated husband and father, and he really loved life. Mr. Phillips was a sales representative for Westgate Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Surviving are his wife, Terry Minton Phillips of the home; three sons, David Phillips, Ryan Phillips and Tyler Phillips, all of the home; his parents, Walter E. and Rita Redding Phillips of East Bend; and a sister, Ginger Phillips Tranter. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Huff Funeral Home Chapel in East Bend, with Pastor Joey MaHaffey officiating. Burial will follow in East Bend Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, May 16, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. Published in the Winston-Salem Journal on 5/16/2008.
