Rachel was born in Yadkin County to Tommy Stimpson and Iva Stimpson. She moved to Greensboro after her marriage in 1950. She spent many years helping to shape and mold young lives. She taught preschool children in Sunday school classes at College Park Baptist Church for over 30 years. She taught at Mount Pisgah Weekday School and Hester' s Creative School on Pinedale Road. She loved children but her passion was her family. She was always very proud of her sons and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Fred W. Scott, in April 2003. They were married for over 52 years. Since his death, she has been lost in this world. Now she is at peace in God' s Kingdom with Fred. Rachel is survived by her sons, Ronald Scott and wife Angie of Greensboro and Harold Scott and wife Kay of Summerfield. She is also survived by her! grandchildren, Chris Scott, Emily Scott and Mindy Scott. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Spencer of Winston-Salem. She will also be missed by a large family that includes sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at College Park Baptist Church, 1601 Walker Ave., with the Rev. Michael Usey officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 12, at Forbis & Dick Guilford Chapel. The family requests that memorials be made to College Park Baptist Church, 1601 Walker Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27403. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Intensive Care Staff of Wesley Long Hospital. They are true angels whose compassion and care are unsurpassed.
