She was born Aug. 28, 1939, to the late Arnold Newman and Reba Holland Fulk. Doris was a retired floral designer and was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a brother. Surviving are her husband, Calvin Willard of the home; her children, Alessa Willard of Yadkinville; James (Emily) Willard of Hamptonville; and Mary Willard Owens of Jonesville; grandchildren Jodi (Tim) Pardue, Bradley Willard and Bailey Willard; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Pardue; two sisters, Virginia Ruth Coffee and Linda Milton; and two brothers, Charles Fulk and Curtis Frank Fulk. Her funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Gentry family Chapel, with the Rev George Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Haven Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 17, at the funeral home in Yadkinville. Ge! ntry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Willard family.
