Her children and grandchildren surrounded her at the time of her death as she silently crossed over to heaven. She was born Dec. 11, 1916, to the late Roscoe and Rachel Swaim Benton. "Grannie Annie," as she was affectionately known, was a longtime member of Fall Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and had perfect Sunday school attendance for 24 years. She devoted her life to raising her children as well as being the caregiver to countless children in the community. She married Everette Macemore, and together they had six boys who loved her dearly. She was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a sister and a friend. She will be remembered for her strong faith in God, deep devotion to her family and the way her blue eyes sparkled when she smiled. Mrs. Macemore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everette Mace! more; two sons, Alfred Macemore and Donnie Macemore; six sisters, Jane Wagoner, Pearl Wagoner, Cora Vestal, Ollie Couch, Maxine Lineberry and Nina Benton; and four brothers, Everette Benton, Clint Benton, Farris Benton and Parks Benton. Surviving are her sons, Dillon Macemore, Danny Macemore, Terry (Jean) Macemore and Jerry Macemore, all of Jonesville; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Macemore; grandchildren Donna (Rusty) Crissman, Kimberly (Eric) Stone and Daniel Macemore; great-grandchildren Justin Crissman, Victoria Crissman and James Everette Stone; three sisters Ellen Macemore, Minnie Bryant and Ruth Crissman; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Fall Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Hudson, Dr. Leon Mikles and the Rev. Jim Pardue officiating. She will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 23, at Gentr! y Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Flowers will be accepted, or m emorials may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 3380 Fall Creek Church Road, Jonesville, NC 28642.
