He was born June 6, 1931, to the late Pet and Mamie Murphy Brown. He attended Bible Baptist Church. He served in The U.S. Air Force. He was the owner of Bill Brown Signs and Garage Doors. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy Brown; and a brother, Aldon Brown. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Blevins Brown of the home; three daughters, Kathy Brown (Eddie Weatherman); Marci (R.C.) Carter; and Sheila (Kerry) Johnson; grandchildren Kristen Booe (Jacob Stroud), Lori Booe, Devin Carter, Lauren Carter, Travis Johnson and Whitney Johnson; two sisters, Grace Miller and Brenda (Clark) Shore; and a brother, Aubrey L. Brown. His funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Gentry Family Chapel, with the Rev. Courtney Crowson officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with military rites by VFW Post 10346. The family will rece! ive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 5, at the funeral home in Yadkinville. Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Carol B.
