Norman, 71, of Golf Course Road, Boonville, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2008, at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1936, in Yadkin County to the late Noah and Lucille Steelman Norman. Mr. Norman enjoyed working with his cattle, farming and most importantly fishing. He was a loving, devoted brother, neighbor and friend to his family and the community. He was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jenny Norman and June Hamlin; his brother, Sherman Norman; a niece, Shirley Norman; and a nephew, Tim Norman. Surviving are his brothers, Harold (Jeanette) Norman of Boonville and Coy (Wanda) Norman of Yadkinville; sister Kay (Bill) Huff of Boonville; and his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that all loved him dearly. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Richmond Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev! . Will Hamric officiating. He will be in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 16, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Richmond Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center, Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011.
