He was born August 4, 1950, in Forsyth County to the late Hubert and Jean Anthony Middleton. Mr. Middleton was an "MK" (missionary kid) and spent most of his childhood in Chile, South America. It was there that he learned the language of Spanish which he continued to use and teach throughout his life. He was a graduate of Appalachain State University and a graduate of Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest. He taught for over 25 years with the Yadkin County School System and assisted the Hispanic Community with interpretation and translation. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Clemmons, Yadkin Masonic Lodge #162 A.F. and A.M. He enjoyed theater and had formerly been an active member of the Yadkin Arts Council. Mr. Middleton was an accomplished soloist and musician on the piano and bass guitar. He loved working with carpentry, home improvement projects and tinkering around with automobiles. Recently Mr. Middleton had been active working with his wife in animal r! escue. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his aunt, Catherine "Tia" Anthony. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Ellen Middleton, 4 daughters; Cathy Ann Sipprell and husband Ezekiel, Amy Kapral, and husband Gary, Megan Middleton, Teresa Middleton, and step-son Matthew John Gasquez. He is also survived by grandchildren Ian and Emmy Sipprell, 2 sisters, Jeanne Shelton and Linda Williams and a brother, Joseph Middleton. His memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Dr. Ted Dougherty and Andrew Mackie. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
