Surviving are his mother, Monica England, Elkin; father, Angel Cortez, Yadkinville; maternal grandmother, Ruby England, and friend, Jerry Wagoner, of Elkin; maternal grandfather, Michael England, Statesville; paternal grandparents, Gregorio Pelagio Cortez and Maria Concepcion Carranza, of Yadkinville; maternal great-grandfather, Douglas Owens; aunts, Natasha England and fiance' ,Edwin Dugman; and Maribel Cortez; and uncles, Michael England, Jr., and Pastor Cortez. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Sterling Griggs. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the family.
