Mr. Porter was born May 1, 1943 to the late John and Florence Porter of East Bend NC, he was also preceded in death by brothers, James and Paul Porter of Winston-Salem NC. Ollie retired from Siemens/Westinghouse after 30 years of service. He is survived by: his wife, Susan; sons, Jeffrey(Anjanette) and Andrew Porter; sisters, Hallie Callands, Vester Porter, Mamie (Ricky) Miller, Lola (Larry) Glenn and Shelia (Michael) Sales; brothers, Bill (Mildred) Porter and Harrison (Stephanie) Porter; Aunt, Lillian Satterfield and uncle, Burley Carter, both of Booneville, NC; mother-in-law, Ruth B. Burgess. Funeral servives will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 from First Baptist Church, Jonesville, where Rev. Ralph Shipp will officiate and interment ot follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will recieve friends from 6 til 8 p.m., Wed.! , Oct 15, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Jonesville. The remains may be viewed at Douthit' s fron 2 til 4 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 15.. The family would extend a special acknowledgement to Mr. Porter' s "running buddies". Dewitt Shaffner, Greg Pardue, Ivey Poplin, John Cook and Interstate Exxon "crew". The family would also like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the caring nurses and staff of Forsyth Medical Center. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
