She was born June 18, 1907 in Surry County, to the late Richard "Dick" and Mary Jane Simmons Chandler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Cleveland Shinault; by an infant son, Paul Junior Shinault; son, Luther Shinault; grandson, Jerry Grose; a granddaughter, Linda Shinault; and three brothers; and a sister. Surviving are her children, Ruby (Fonzo "Bum") Snow, Eva (Gilbert) Grose, Chester Shinault, Barbara (Claude) Salmons, all of Yadkinville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Her Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Dean Chandler. Burial will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Surry County.
